Tinubu speaks on Africa’s new credit rating agency
President Bola Tinubu has spoken on Africa's new credit rating agency. The project is meant to judge the creditworthiness of African states from within the continent rather than leaving the job to the established raters in New York and London. African governments have long complained that outside ratings underrate their economies and push up borrowing costs. Tinubu's remarks come as the push for a homegrown alternative gathers pace.
