The Spanish government is pressing ahead with votes on both housing decrees rather than withdrawing them, betting the opposition will have to show its hand. Junts has declared it will not support the measures unless they are pulled and renegotiated. Until this point, only the rent-extension decree looked likely to gather enough backing to be validated. Moncloa is keeping both texts on the table anyway, arguing the moment has come for parties to reveal where they really stand.
