Student protests in France have intensified and have led to around 2,000 detentions. In total, 1,027 educational institutions were affected by the incidents, including 222 that were blockaded. The unrest also injured 284 police officers and gendarmes, 65 education workers and 170 students. Those numbers give a sense of how widely the protests spread and how costly the confrontations became.
