The president-elect of the Jamaica Teachers' Association was rushed to hospital after a crash involving two vehicles in Trelawny. The collision took place in the north coast parish, and the incoming union head was moved straight from the scene for emergency treatment. His condition has not been made public so far. Police have not confirmed whether anyone else travelling in either vehicle was also hurt. A cause for the crash has yet to be established by investigators. The association, which is preparing for a change at the top of its leadership, has not commented on the incident. Witness statements are still being gathered at the site. More detail is expected once officers complete their initial enquiries.
