Singapore petrol prices rise for fourth straight day as SPC joins latest wave of hikes

Pump prices rose for a fourth consecutive day this week on Friday (Oct 2), with Chinese state-owned SPC becoming the last of five major fuel companies in Singapore to raise petrol prices.In a price board update published at 3pm, PetroChina-owned SPC announced that it has raised the price of its 92-octane petrol by 15 cents, while its prices for 95-, and 98-octane petrol were raised by 5 cents each.But, mirroring the earlier hikes by Caltex, Esso, Shell and Sinopec, SPC has also kept the price of its diesel unchanged. Shell and Caltex were the first two major fuel companies in Singapore to raise pump prices on Tuesday, followed by Esso a day later, and Sinopec on Thursday.After the latest round of increases, the price of the more popular 95-octane petrol now ranges from $2.54 at Cnergy to $3.54 at Caltex, Esso, Shell and Sinopec.
