Vietnam's car market gives buyers plenty of choice in battery-electric and self-charging hybrid models, but plug-in hybrids sit in a much narrower lane. A review of the segment finds only seven mainstream PHEV options on sale in the country. Most come from Chinese brands, which have moved into the plug-in space faster than legacy automakers. Drivers who want to charge at home while keeping a petrol engine as backup still have little to pick from.
