A 29-year-old mother of one in Guyana says she is living in constant fear that years of alleged abuse by her former partner will eventually cost her life. Alicia Gobin shared her concerns with Kaieteur News after the most recent attack on her property. A fire broke out at her unfinished home in Schoonord, West Bank Demerara, at about 3:43 a.m. on Sunday. According to Gobin, it was the fifth suspected arson incident connected to her ex-partner. She says the escalating pattern has convinced her she could be killed if nothing changes. The report did not say whether police have arrested anyone in connection with the fires.
