Telok Blangah killing leaves 1 dead, 1 injured; 32-year-old man to be charged on Oct 7
A 32-year-old man will be charged in court on Oct 7 with the alleged murder of a 73-year-old man in Telok Blangah at about 6pm on Monday (Oct 5).Police said in a news release on Monday that the incident happened at Block 61 Telok Blangah Heights.Officers responding to the incident found a 73-year-old Chinese man lying motionless on the ground floor, while a 53-year-old Chinese man was also found injured.Both men were taken to the hospital where the elder man later passed away.According to the police, the 53-year-old was conscious when he was taken to the hospital. A 32-year-old male Chinese subsequently called the police to surrender and was arrested in the vicinity of the scene. He is believed to have acted alone, the police said.“There is currently no evidence to suggest that it is a religiously motivated attack or an act of terror,” they added.The offence of murder carries the death penalty.
