Quay’s winning run comes to an end as Duleek retain title hopes
Quay's winning run in the North East Football League came to an end, and the timing has thrown the title race open again. A club that had got used to collecting three points almost every week had to settle for less this time. Duleek took full advantage and kept their title hopes alive on the strength of the weekend's results. The latest round-up leaves the top of the table far less settled than it looked a fortnight ago. Clubs chasing the leaders now have a realistic target to aim at, something that seemed remote while the streak was running. Results elsewhere in the league shifted the picture at both ends of the standings. Quay will want to show the lost points were a blip when the next fixtures come around, while Duleek will push to keep closing the gap.
