One of the longest-lived stars of Hollywood's golden age is gone. Eva Marie Saint, an American actress who won an Oscar, died on Tuesday at the age of 102. Her reputation rests above all on two films, On the Waterfront and North by Northwest. In the 1954 drama On the Waterfront she appeared opposite Marlon Brando, and the role earned her the Academy Award. A few years later she starred in Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest across from Cary Grant. Her screen partners over a long career also included Tom Hanks. She reached an age that very few of her contemporaries managed.
