Census takers visit households in Tehran’s Pasteur neighborhood to collect information during the 1986 national population and housing census. The fourth national census, the first conducted after the Islamic Revolution, began simultaneously across Iran on October 8, 1986, and continued through October 22. IRNA’s archival photos show the census being implemented on its first day.
