Drogheda United travel to face Trabzonspor at a moment when their league season is far from secure. The Louth club are working to stay clear of the relegation play-off spot in the SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division. Anything earned in Turkey, whether prize money or momentum, would give the squad more room through the final weeks of the campaign. A crowded fixture list and long travel days add strain to a group of players with little margin for error. Results from the teams around them will also decide whether the play-off route comes into the picture at all. The club must juggle a European assignment and a league battle side by side in the coming weeks.
