Kuwait approves 5.52 million dinars in high-voltage grid maintenance
Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy has won clearance for two projects to maintain and repair high-voltage transformer cables. The State Audit Bureau granted its approval, giving the ministry the green light it needed to move the spending forward. The two contracts together are worth 5.520 million dinars. One covers the country's northern regions and the other the south, dividing the work across the network. The ministry frames the projects as early preparations meant to strengthen the readiness of the power grid. Transformer cables carry the heavy loads that move electricity from generation points into the distribution system, so their condition speaks directly to supply reliability. In a country where summer heat pushes consumption to some of the highest levels in the region, keeping such equipment in order is a year-round task. The approval means the maintenance can now be scheduled rather than left waiting on paperwork.
