Kuwait's Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, landed in Bahrain on Wednesday for a regional ministerial meeting. Bahrain's Minister of Social Development, Osama Al-Alawi, received her at Bahrain International Airport upon arrival. The purpose of the visit is the 12th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Social Affairs and Development of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The committee gathers social affairs ministers from the six GCC member states. Its sessions typically focus on social protection and coordinated development efforts across the Gulf. The airport welcome reflected the close working ties between the two neighbouring monarchies. Details of the agenda and the expected outcome of the meeting have not been published yet.
