The Municipal Theatre P.O. Hviezdoslava in Bratislava hosted the SOZA awards gala. SOZA is the Slovak copyright society that collects royalties for musicians and authors, and its awards night draws much of the local music scene. Winners from the various categories picked up their honors in front of a crowd of performers and celebrity guests. Jožo Ráž made an unexpected gesture during the evening that left an impression. The widow of Vašo, who died at 68, attended the ceremony. Žbirková also showed up, arriving with company. Beyond the handouts, much of the coverage focused on what the guests wore and how the night went for them.
