A video shared after the Nobel announcement shows American scientist Karl Deisseroth telling his son and two daughters the news in person. The children take a second to register what their father has just said. They then erupt, shouting and hugging as the win sinks in. Deisseroth, a psychiatrist and neuroscientist, laughs along with the reaction. Clips of the family moment spread quickly online after the prize was made public. Few laureates get the exact second they learn about a Nobel captured on camera, which explains the swell of interest in the footage.
