Fuel dealer fined US$300 for violating Income Tax Act
A fuel dealer in Zimbabwe has been fined US$300 for breaching the Income and Tax Act. Harare magistrate Nyasha Marufu imposed the penalty on Giant Petroleum, which was accused of contravening two sections of the law. The case reached the courts after the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority filed a complaint against the company. Prosecutor Chipo Muvhamba led the state's side and managed to prove its claims. The court heard that in November 2025, Zimra carried out compliance checks on Giant Petroleum's submissions. Whatever the checks turned up, the financial hit on this occasion was modest. The fine still leaves the company with a formal conviction on its record.
