Sophia man found dead with gunshot wound to head
A 23-year-old labourer known as 'Savage' was found dead at his home in C Field Reserve, Sophia, on Thursday morning. Police have identified him as Kurt Beckles. He is believed to have suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Beckles lived by himself in a one-flat wooden house enclosed by a zinc fence. It has not been made clear how long he lay undiscovered before being found. Officers have not named a suspect or indicated a possible motive. An investigation into the death is under way. Sophia is a densely populated community on the outskirts of Georgetown.
