Zimbabwe's government has called on tertiary institutions to begin offering lectures in artificial intelligence. Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development Minister Frederick Shava made the appeal during Mutare Polytechnic College's 35th graduation ceremony on Thursday. His speech was read on his behalf to the graduates and guests gathered for the occasion. The minister wants polytechnics and universities across the country to bring AI content into their teaching. Mutare Polytechnic used the day to send off another cohort of graduates after three and a half decades of operation. The appeal lands as education authorities weigh how training can keep pace with new technology. Newsday reported the remarks in its coverage of the ceremony.
