Turkey's defense industry has rolled out a new fixed-wing tactical unmanned aerial vehicle family called ÇEPNİ. The system is being presented as the newest link in the country's set of solutions for tactical-level operations. According to the announcement, ÇEPNİ can take part in a wide range of missions, with intelligence gathering, surveillance, reconnaissance and strike work listed among its roles. The family comes in three separate operational versions, each aimed at different field requirements. The vehicle has now moved into actual field use, putting it on the active roster instead of leaving it at the prototype stage. Its arrival adds another domestically developed platform to a sector Turkey has been expanding steadily for years.
