Olola Daniel, younger brother of former Ogun governor Gbenga Daniel, has endorsed Senator Solomon Adeola, better known as Yayi, for the 2027 governorship race in Ogun State. The younger Daniel also brushed aside the controversy over Adeola's ancestry. Critics have claimed Adeola's real roots lie in Lagos rather than the Yewa area of Ogun, an assertion his camp rejects. Olola Daniel described the ancestry argument as a distraction from the real question, which is who can govern the state well. The endorsement stands out because of the family connection to one of the state's most prominent politicians.
