Spa pulled off the shock of the Kerry Senior Football Championship quarter-finals by knocking out the fancied East Kerry. The winning moment came in the closing minutes, when Evan Cronin shot over a two-point free to edge his side in front. That late strike sent Spa through and instantly made Cronin the man of the moment among supporters. East Kerry arrived as clear favourites for a semi-final place, carrying a stronger panel and recent pedigree. Spa's defence held firm for long stretches, stopping the favourites from building any comfortable lead. When the free went over, Spa supporters behind the posts erupted as the finish settled the tie. The result puts Spa into the semi-finals, where a county final appearance is now one game away. East Kerry's exit removes one of the biggest names from the draw and opens the path for the remaining clubs.
