Michael Jordan's jersey from game two of the 1998 NBA Finals has sold for 20 million dollars, the highest price ever paid for a piece of basketball memorabilia. The shirt was worn during the season remembered as The Last Dance, Jordan's final championship run with the Chicago Bulls. Prices for game-worn Jordan items have climbed steadily as collectors chase artifacts tied to his championship years. A jersey he wore in game one of that same Finals series fetched more than 10 million dollars at auction in 2022. This new sale doubles that benchmark and far outstrips anything else ever sold from the sport. The 20 million dollar mark puts basketball memorabilia in the company of the priciest baseball collectibles ever sold. The identity of the buyer and plans for the jersey have not been made public.
