Jared Kushner marks one year since release of Israeli hostages: 'A moment I will never forget'
Jared Kushner, advisor to US President Donald Trump, on Tuesday marked one year since the release of the final 20 living Israeli hostages from Gaza, recalling their reunions with their families as "one of the most special moments of my life." "One year ago today, all 20 remaining living Israeli hostages finally came home after two years of unimaginable suffering in Gaza," Kushner wrote. "After so much pain, uncertainty, and heartbreak, seeing families embrace their loved ones again was something I will never forget." He added that the hostages "endured hell" while their families demonstrated "extraordinary strength, courage, and resilience." Kushner expressed gratitude to President Trump for his "leadership and determination," as well as to Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and partners in Israel, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey. He specifically thanked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ron Dermer, and senior officials from the countries involved for their efforts in securing the hostages' release. "Above all, today belongs to the freed hostages and their families," Kushner concluded. "Their strength and determination will always inspire me."
