After over two months of unchanged prices, fuel prices in Singapore first rose again on Sept 14, and for every alternate week since, major fuel companies here have raised prices amid global oil supply volatility. On Tuesday (Oct 13) evening, London-headquartered Esso announced a 3-cent hike across its 92-, 95-, and 98-octane petrol, while keep its diesel prices unchanged. The move mirrors price increments posted by Caltex, followed by Shell on Monday. Esso's latest adjustment comes nearly two weeks after its last round of price increases on Sept 30, when a 5-cent hike was applied across its petrol offerings. The Anglo American company is now tied with Caltex and Shell for the highest posted price of 95-octane petrol in the Republic, before discounts.
