In November 1974, Ronald DeFeo Jr. killed his parents and four siblings in the town of Amityville. The twenty-three-year-old shot his family members while they were sleeping. Six bodies were found in the house. The son initially blamed the mafia for the crimes. He later claimed he heard voices whispering atrocities. The home later became a symbol of paranormal horror.
