Dramatic footage from France shows a young woman confronting people who were looting a supermarket during demonstrations. 'Why are you doing this? Stop! This isn't what we're fighting for!' she is heard telling them. The demonstrators brush her off entirely and carry on with what they were doing. The clip has circulated widely, exactly the kind of scene that complicates protest movements. Crowds that gather to make a political point often split once things turn lawless, and her voice in the video captures that tension. Her plea went unheeded, though the recording drew attention on its own.
