The Croatian association Putokaz za Afriku has finished its largest mission to date, its ninth trip to Rwanda. The organization brought record donations to children and their families during the visit, higher than anything it has delivered before. The focus this time goes beyond one-off relief, since the association wants to build a self-sustainability program that covers an entire household. Under the program, families would get the means to support themselves over the long term instead of waiting for each new donation. Members of the association describe their work in Rwanda as continuous, with each visit building on the results of the previous one. The group has built its name through projects for children in the country, and this mission extended that support to whole families. The stated aim is lasting support, not a single round of aid.
