Seven years and six months in prison is the first-instance price for a December 2024 crash in which four people died. The Basic Court of Brčko District handed down the sentence to Marija Božić, the driver involved in the accident. The collision happened on the stretch of road known locally as the Malaysian road. Four people lost their lives there, a toll that keeps the case in public view long after the event. The verdict is not yet final, so the defense can still file an appeal. Only once that process runs its course will it be known whether the sentence stands. For the families of the victims, this is the first court answer, though not necessarily the last.
