Emmanuel Uduaghan, a former governor of Delta State, has died, and the Christian Association of Nigeria is among the groups paying tribute. In its condolence message, CAN commended his work for national unity and his dealings with communities of different faiths. The association recalled his calm approach to politics during his time in power. Uduaghan led Delta State from 2007 to 2015, after earlier service as the state's secretary to the government. Before entering public life he worked as a medical doctor. Tributes from figures across the political spectrum have followed since the news broke. CAN prayed for his family to find the strength to bear the loss. Details of burial arrangements have yet to be announced.
