Dr Crokes and Kenmare Shamrocks have come through their respective semi-finals and will now meet in the Kerry senior football championship decider. Championship weekend left plenty to unpack beyond the final pairing itself. One of the biggest talking points concerns the Kerry captaincy, given how the honour traditionally follows the club that lifts the county trophy. Where the final will be staged has also generated debate among supporters across the county. Benign weather helped both semi-finals along, a small mercy given how conditions can affect open county football. Beaten semi-finalists North Kerry and Spa must now turn to what awaits them, whether that is further competition or regrouping before next season. Attention now shifts to the decider and the discussion around its venue.
