State Service: Cyber threats know no borders, international cooperation must be strengthened
A state cybersecurity service has warned that cyber threats do not recognise borders, so no single country can fight them alone. Attackers routinely strike from servers in one jurisdiction at targets in another, which makes traditional borders close to useless for investigators. The service is calling on governments to strengthen international cooperation in responding to such incidents. Closer joint work should include faster exchange of information about attacks and coordinated responses across agencies. Officials also point to the need for common standards for protecting critical infrastructure. Without that kind of coordination, the agency argues, each country ends up defending itself in isolation while attackers move freely between legal systems.
