Bir adedi bile çok kıymetli! 1200 yıllık ağacın mahsülüne talep çok
An olive tree believed to be around 1,200 years old is expected to yield close to 90 kilograms of fruit this year. It was rescued from being cut down during a motorway project in Manisa and transported to the Zeytinpark in Antalya. Bayram Çarkçıgil, the park's general manager, says demand for the tree's harvest far outstrips what it can give. He puts the interest down to the tree's age and the meaning people attach to it, not to any special taste. Some buyers, he explains, want a single olive to keep in a wallet as a personal keepsake. With supply that small, each fruit carries value far beyond its weight in oil. The tree has become one of the park's most talked-about residents since its long journey south.
