The electric train service planned between Tartu and Tallinn is now expected to begin no earlier than January next year. The Estonian intercity connection was originally supposed to start operating in 2024. Infrastructure work on the line will not be completed by the end of this year. The current schedule therefore places the earliest possible launch in January. The announcement did not specify which works caused the delay or give a firm date beyond that month. For passengers and rail operators, the service remains unavailable while work continues.
