Dr. Sandër Kovaçi is now at the forefront of a teachers' protest against Prime Minister Albin Ramëi's government. He previously directed analysis at SHISH, Albania's inspectorate for higher education and science, and worked as a pedagogue. Kovaçi served as Albania's ambassador to Slovenia from 2008 to 2013 during the Democratic Party-led administration. He later headed SHISH's Analysis Department from 2013 to 2015. His work in education and diplomacy has placed him among the public figures associated with today's demonstration. Kovaçi also publicly clashed with the authorities during the teachers' protests of 2022, well before the current action against Rama.
