Romania posted the largest year-on-year increase in construction activity among European Union countries in August. Eurostat said construction work advanced 39% compared with August 2025. Hungary and Finland also recorded strong increases, while Romania held the top position. The Romanian result placed the country at the top of the bloc’s construction growth ranking for the month. The figure concerns growth from the same month a year earlier rather than the overall size of each country’s construction sector. Eurostat is the European Union’s official statistical office.
