President William Ruto presented Professor Russell Eli White with a national award during the 2026 Mashujaa Day ceremony. The honour recognized White’s nearly three decades of service to health services at Tenwek Hospital. Professor White has worked at the hospital for close to 30 years. His long association with Tenwek Hospital formed the basis of the recognition. Mashujaa Day is an annual occasion on which Kenya honours figures associated with courage, sacrifice and service. The presentation placed Professor White among the people formally recognized during the national celebration.
