Demonstrators from several sectors of Indonesian society gathered at Jakarta's Tugu Tani on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. The date coincided with the second anniversary of the administration led by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran. The rally drew attention to land and forest fires, known in Indonesia as karhutla. It also focused on MBG, short for Makan Bergizi Gratis, the government's free nutritious meal program. The initial account did not specify the protesters' demands. It also gave no turnout figure and did not identify the organizers. Republika.co.id published the report from Jakarta.
