Plans for 540 homes on Dublin lands owned by JP McManus and John Magnier knocked back
A major plan for 540 homes on large tracts of west Dublin land owned by JP McManus and John Magnier has been knocked back. The proposal had already received approval at an earlier stage of the planning process. Despite that backing, the latest decision means the 540-home scheme has not secured the final go-ahead. The current planning permission therefore cannot be used to proceed with all the proposed homes. The setback leaves room for a revised application, but it does not approve any alternative version of the project. Other housing plans on sizable tracts in west Dublin have received approval, indicating that the difficulty is specific to this proposal. The dispute leaves the site's long-term development unresolved.
Further plans for homes on large chunks of land in west Dublin were approved.
