A coalition led by Saudi Arabia said it intercepted and destroyed a Houthi drone in the area around Riyadh. The announcement placed the operation about five hours after the coalition said it had shot down a ballistic missile aimed at the capital. It described the intercepted object as a drone belonging to the Houthi movement. The short account did not identify where the drone was launched or how it was brought down, and it provided no description of the aircraft. It gave no casualty or damage report and did not say whether any debris was recovered. The Saudi-led coalition presented the operation as a defensive response to a threat against the capital. The account supplied nothing beyond the coalition's statement to verify the claimed sequence of events or the destruction of the drone.
