A Hungarian envoy said Azerbaijan is playing an independent role in global affairs. The remark presents Baku as a country that follows its own foreign-policy choices rather than simply echoing larger powers. It also suggests that Azerbaijan is willing to pursue positions that may differ from those of its closest partners. The envoy's comments frame the country's global standing as a product of strategic autonomy. No examples, specific policies, or diplomatic initiatives were provided to substantiate the claim. The envoy and the occasion on which the comments were made were not identified. The statement therefore offers a broad characterization of Azerbaijan's foreign-policy posture without further detail.
