President William Ruto presented nurse Jacobeth Jeptoo with an honour on October 20. She was recognised for risking her life to aid victims of the Nandi helicopter crash. The accident killed former MP Johana Ng’eno and five other people. Jeptoo’s actions formed part of the immediate response to the disaster. The award singled out her courage and willingness to help others in danger. Her recognition came against the backdrop of the six deaths caused by the crash.
