Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist's proposed middle-ground coalition has met resistance from most of the parties needed to form it. A majority of those parties do not want to join the proposed government. The Center Party leader has been sounding out other political groups about the idea. Green Party leader Janine Alm Ericson says those inquiries are intended to scuttle the project rather than build a coalition. Her assessment is that the alliance is not taking shape in a favorable direction. The report did not specify which parties rejected the proposal or what policy disagreements stand in the way.
