Lithuania’s Interior Ministry has prepared changes to the rules governing examinations for motor vehicle drivers. The draft would amend the document setting out the conditions and procedures for candidate tests. One area of the proposal concerns how candidates register for their examinations, with the ministry seeking a stricter and more orderly booking process. Another change focuses on the assessment of practical driving skills. Under the planned framework, an examination could not be held if the required preparation and organizational conditions had not been met. The ministry has submitted the amendments for coordination, so they are not yet final. Once approved, the changes would give examiners clearer rules covering registration and the practical test.
