Eesti Energia has abandoned a hydrogen infrastructure project in Estonia’s Ida-Viru county. The company turned down 24.7 million euros that had been set aside from a European Union support fund. The allocation was intended for hydrogen infrastructure in a project meant to change Ida-Viru. Estonia will not have to return the money to the EU, according to the Centre for Environmental Investment, known as KIK. That confirmation prevents the abandoned project from triggering a repayment of the funds. As a result, the planned hydrogen scheme in Ida-Viru will not go ahead.

По заверению Центра инвестиций в окружающую среду (KIK), Эстонии все же не придется возвращать эти деньги в фонд поддержки Европейского союза.
