Itamar Ben-Gvir posted an AI-generated video that mocked the devastation in Gaza. The Israeli national security minister shared the clip on social media, turning images of conflict into a provocative political joke. The treatment of Gaza’s destruction and loss of life as a subject of ridicule drew sharp criticism. The episode put the minister’s communication style under renewed scrutiny during an active military conflict. The video was synthetic rather than a record of events on the ground, and that choice was central to the criticism. The post came as Israel’s government faced intense international criticism over the war and the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
