The North Atlantic Treaty Organization will send additional aircraft and drones to the Black Sea. The deployment comes after several cargo ships were hit by drones off the coasts of NATO members Bulgaria and Romania during the preceding weeks. The alliance has not said how many aircraft or drones will be sent, or which units and bases will supply them. It also has not provided an arrival timetable or said how long the reinforcement will remain in the region. The move is intended to strengthen NATO's ability to monitor the affected sea routes and protect commercial navigation near its member states. The attacks have raised fresh concerns about shipping safety and the risk of further disruption in the Black Sea.
