High Court orders release of re-arrested Chinese nationals
The High Court in Mbabane has cleared the way for 25 Chinese nationals to be released after they were taken back into custody. Judge Zonke Magagula delivered the ruling on Thursday in the case of Li Hai and 24 others against the national commissioner of police and three other respondents. The court granted the group leave to execute an earlier judgment that had already ordered their release. The decision brings a temporary end to a legal tug-of-war over the repeated arrests of the detainees.
