Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky met American special envoy Steve Witkoff in Oslo on Tuesday, October 20. Reuters said the meeting was meant to repair relations between Washington and Kyiv, which had fallen to a new low. The report said Donald Trump had courted Moscow while Kyiv complained that Washington had not provided the defense assurances it sought. The available account did not include the length of the meeting, the delegation’s makeup, or the topics discussed in detail. It likewise cited no joint statement, agreement, or specific follow-up commitment. The meeting was presented as an attempt to reopen coordination, but its substantive result was not yet clear.
