Ofrenda monumental en el Zócalo; van por récord Guinness con la catrina más alta del mundo
Full story
The organizers are planning a monumental catrina installation in Mexico City’s Zócalo. The display is intended to compete for a Guinness World Record for the world’s tallest catrina. Puerto Vallarta currently holds the mark with a catrina that rises 28 meters. A new sculpture in the capital would need to clear that height to take the record. Placing the structure in the Zócalo would make it part of one of the city’s best-known public spaces. The project also links the Día de Muertos imagery to a citywide spectacle visible to large crowds. Details such as the planned height, construction materials, judging date and opening schedule are not yet specified.
